Running a three-branch shop without spreadsheets
Stock was counted by hand in three places, yesterday's sales arrived a day late, and payroll was rebuilt from paper every month.

Demo data

The problem
- No way to see stock at one branch while standing in another
- Daily sales totals reconciled by hand, always a day behind
- Transfers between branches recorded on paper, or not at all
- Salaries calculated at month end from a written attendance book
What we built
- One system across all branches, with roles for managers, cashiers and stock keepers
- Point of sale that runs on the phones staff already own
- Stock, transfers and low-stock alerts in real time
- Attendance feeding straight into payroll
How it went live
- Products and opening stock imported from the shop's own lists
- Branches, users and permissions set up before go-live
- Two training sessions with the people who use it daily
- A visit a week later to fix what only shows up in real use
Built with
Next.js and TanStack Query on the front, Node and Express with Prisma and MySQL behind it, on a hardened Ubuntu server with SSL, monitoring and off-site backups.

~1 hoursaved every day
Closing the day's income — cash and each payment method — used to take about an hour by hand. It is now part of the day's record.
